When Dessi and Malcolm Bell created Saint + Sofia, they did so with the intention of creating a timeless fashion brand that offered elegant pieces made in a way that was kind to the planet. Sustainability has been at the core of Saint + Sofia ever since, and we take pride in our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint in every aspect of the business – and that includes our packaging. Find out how we’ve used planet-friendly methods to create sustainable packaging that looks beautifully chic.

BCI Cotton

All our dust bags are created using BCI cotton. BCI stands for Better Cotton Initiative, and its entire focus is on making cotton production more sustainable, ethical, and environmentally friendly. Farmers who grow cotton under the guidelines of BCI must take into consideration seven key points:

Soil Health
Biodiversity and Land Use
Fibre Quality
Decent Work Conditions
Effective Management Systems

When your new bag or pair of shoes arrive from Saint + Sofia, you’ll find their dust bag is sumptuously smooth and perfect for keeping your new accessories looking their best for longer – all while being kinder to the environment.

Poly Bags

If your new garments don’t arrive wrapped in our beautifully branded recycled paper, they’ll arrive in Poly Bags. Each of these bags is made from cornstarch rather than plastic, meaning they’re both biodegradable and renewable. What’s more, their slightly thicker texture offers a more luxurious finish to our packaging – sustainable and chic.

Recycled Paper

Every single piece of paper packaging you receive from us – that includes boxes, tissue, our catalogues, and even our boutique carrier bags in-store – is made from recycled materials. Our boxes are even made in kraft form using recycled wood pulp for a stronger finish. That means not only does our packaging feel high quality and look beautifully elegant when it arrives at your door, but it can all be placed in the recycling bin once you’re finished with it to ensure a lower carbon footprint.
