The Top Christmas Markets to Visit in London 2025

By Emily Weatherill

The festive season is almost upon us, and we don’t know about you, but here at Saint and Sofia, we’re ready to embrace some festive cheer. So, to get prepared, we’re planning which London Christmas markets to add to our watch list.

New to London: Buckingham Palace Pop-Up

This year, Buckingham Palace will host it’s first ever Christmas shop. Although not a traditional market, this pop-up is definitely one to add to your festive destination list. You’ll find it nestled in a corner of the Royal Mews from 14th November – 5th January, serving everything from Christmas gifts to tree decorations and festive food. You’ll even be able to spot a full-size advent calendar with daily reveals of new products if you’re after an exclusive treat.

Hyde Park | Winter Wonderland

Possibly the most famous London Christmas market – and for good reason – Winter Wonderland is definitely one to visit this December. Its massive Christmassy expanse is located in the heart of Hyde Park and features a funfair, Bavarian-style beer hall, an ice beer, Christmas market, and all the food and drink stalls you can think of. You’ll have to book tickets in advance though, it gets pretty packed.

Covent Garden

It’s become famous for its head-turning decorations and enormous Christmas tree, and this year’s set to be no different as Covent Garden’s Christmas Market prepares to unveil its Theatre of Christmas campaign. Head down to the iconic neighbourhood to spot the installation of its iconic gigantic bells, 300,000 sparkling lights, and signature 60-foot tree. There are also delicious food and drink stalls to enjoy and a selection of stalls to browse while you’re there.

Southbank

Set right along the Thames, the Southbank Christmas Market bursts with seasonal food stalls and pop-up bars where you can enjoy a festive drink with a view of the London Eye. You’ll be able to enjoy gourmet cheese toasties, bratwurst, eggnog, and the classic mulled wine from the 3rd November. And if you’re still to complete your Christmas shopping, you’ll find a selection of gift stalls featuring jewellery, decorations, and fashion pieces made by independent creatives in London.

Leicester Square

Often overlooked, the Leicester Square Christmas Market is not to be missed. It’s set in the heart of the iconic West End and features food stalls, bars, and festive shopping for you to enjoy. This year, Skate arrives with a dazzling ice rink in partnership with Underbelly to support the Angel Child Fund at The Brain Tumour Charity. Book your slot to glide around the city’s iconic square, and all for a good cause.

Borough Market

Not a London Christmas market in its own right but still a festive treat to enjoy, Borough Market redecorates the iconic food emporium with an array of tinsel, fairy lights, and wreaths. You’ll find all its usual delicious recipes alongside new holiday additions – including the likes of a Christmas Day Cheese Board.
