What To Do in London in May
By
It’s a glorious time of the year to visit London. The capital always looks best under the sun’s rays but to ensure you make the most from your trip, we’ve compiled the ultimate itinerary for your next adventure. Read on for a list of outings and events in London to keep you busy this May.

National Walking Month
May is National Walking Month and as the weather warms up, but it’s not yet sweltering, there’s no better time to stroll through the city and explore new districts or visit the capital’s iconic landmarks. Plan a route along the Thames for a scenic wander and make sure to stop at Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and the London Eye before settling into a pub on the South Bank for a river view and small plates.
Beetlejuice on the West End
Beetlejuice… Beetlejuice… BEETLEJUICE finally opens on the West End this month with shows starting from May 20th, running until April 17th 2027. Based on Tim Burton’s quirky film, this hit show has become hugely popular on Broadway for the darkly humorous plotline and iconic songs. You’ll find it at Prince Edward Theatre in Soho – happily surrounded by plenty of pre-show dining options.
Canal Festival in Little Venice
This bank holiday weekend (2nd – 4th May), the IWA Canalway Cavalcade returns to London to celebrate the city’s historic waterways. This vibrant festival will see over 100 decorated boats moor in Little Venice with plenty of food stalls and activities on hand for all the family to enjoy.

Pop Up Market in Leadenhall Market
Featured in an array of cinematic masterpieces – and inspiring the backdrop of one of the most popular scenes in Wonka – Leadenhall Market is a must-visit destination year round, but particularly on Sunday 10th May and Saturday 25th May. This is when the cobbled arcade’s walkways transform into a pop-up market featuring vintage furniture, fashion, and craft stalls you won’t want to miss.
